Since the inception of Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart over 25 years ago, more than 90 per cent of all Australian schools, involving 8 million school children have participated in this fun and active program. We've given schools enough rope to stretch from Sydney to Perth! Each year Heart Foundation Jump Rope attracts over 400,000 students, in over 2,300 schools with over 700,000 sponsors comprising of families, friends and members of local school communities. Participating schools receive a Jump Rope for Heart resource kit to conduct the program over three-to ten-week period. During this time, kids collect donations and participate in healthy activities organised at your school. At the end of the program, a special 'Jump Off' is held to celebrate the skills learned. Thank you prizes are awarded to participants for their fundraising efforts. For Teachers… Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart is all about learning how to keep fit and healthy. It improves the kids' strength and confidence in physical activities and builds healthy bones and muscles. The kids can have lots of fun with their class mates and play lots of skipping games too. At the same time they will be helping save Australian lives by asking their family and friends to sponsor them for being a part of this fun program.
